Summer Splash 6

Summer Splash 6 is a collegiate online gaming event that brought together students from campuses across the nation for a weekend of casual and competitive fun, featuring tournaments, industry panels, an artist alley, and more. Our goal was to create a distinct visual identity for the 6th edition of this event that can be easily recognizable and replicable by a talented and diverse team of 15 artists/designers. We wanted to call back a newer age of nostalgia, focusing on the early 2000s-2010s with the Nintendo DS and Wii. Most of our inspiration came from thematic game manuals of the time and the stylization of UI elements from these game systems.

Summer Splash 6 Stream VODs

In addition to building the visual identity of Summer Splash 6 I was tasked as the Broadcast Graphics Lead to create motion graphics and animations required for Twitch livestreams. The main component I wanted to utilize in these scenes was 3D animations of the Summer Splash mascots. The characters were modeled, painted, and animated in Blender, where I redesigned them in an Animal Crossing: New Leaf low-poly style.

Neptune Series 2026

Neptune is a collegiate Valorant tournament hosted by Triton Gaming in collaboration with Triton Valorant. This tournament streamed online on Twitch throughout its Swiss bracket and finished on May 30th with an in-person LAN event at TEC2.I created a modern identity that would fit in with the slightly grungy visual design of the main Valorant tournaments, honoring the iconic status of the main circuit while centering the theming of the graphics towards the concept of Neptune itself. I interpreted Neptune as a mix of the god of the sea as well as the planet within our solar system, using space and whirlpool-like vortexes as a main visual component.Neptune was created alongside High Tide, a West Coast Game Changers Series. We wanted to avoid having High Tide's designs be typical of tournaments that are centered around women and gender inclusivity. This led us to have Neptune's color palette heavily utilize purples and pinks rather than High Tide's.

Neptune LAN at TGEX 2026

Additionally, as Neptune's in-person LAN event would be promoted and occur alongside a larger event, TGEX, the logo design had to have an alternate version adapted to the visual aesthetics of TGEX 2026. Focusing more on a comic book-esque appearance, as the theme for the event was Multiverse.

High Tide

High Tide is a Game Changers Valorant tournament hosted by UCSD Esports in collaboration with Triton Valorant. This tournament streamed online on Twitch throughout its Swiss bracket and finished on May 31st with an in-person LAN event at TEC2.The design and aesthetic of this tournament were made to be much more sleek than Neptune's. One of the main themes stemmed from the logo's triangular shape, a feature inspired by the spike in Valorant. High Tide focused on having a more aquatic theme, with the brand palette being more rooted in deep blues, teals, and whites. The motion design needed to maintain the feeling of rushing water, utilizing more angular and linear visuals contrasting Neptune.

Triton Gaming Expo 2026

Triton Gaming Expo, or TGEX, is Triton Gaming’s annual flagship in-person event and the biggest celebration of games, creativity, and community at UC San Diego. Across the weekend, TGEX brings people together for panels, showcases, interactive experiences, and opportunity drawings. TGEX 2026 was livestreamed across 3 Twitch channels, showcasing all of the events happening both days at Triton Gaming Expo to 757 unique viewers in addition to the 3,000+ live attendees.

2026 marked TGEX’s 10th anniversary, inspiring the design aesthetic to function as a multiverse, bringing back old designs from previous TGEX's into one complete look. I designed stream assets used for the Twitch broadcasts, incorporating comic book design elements and illustrations. Additionally, I designed promotional material, event decor, and took part in illustrating a section of the TGEX 2026 artbook.

Triton Photo Studio

Established in 2024, the Triton Photo Studio is a student-operated photography studio aimed at providing students on campus with affordable, high-quality photographic experiences. Whether it be for events, headshots for LinkedIn, or graduation shoots, Triton Photo Studio connects students with students to create a comfortable, collaborative environment.

When I was first introduced to this company, the brand design for the Triton Photo Studio was only a rough aesthetic based on a single font and a vibrant 5-color palette. To better represent this photography studio run by young college students, I leaned into pairing this visual identity with a 1920s retro aesthetic variation of a well-known UCSD mascot. By putting a fresh coat of paint on the "Fluffy" mascot, we were able to create a lovable character that set itself apart from the standardized look of the university. I also designed promotional materials and sticker designs.

Overcraft

Overcraft is an online competitive Overwatch tournament hosted by Pirate Walnut, featuring Minecraft content creators. This event was livestreamed on Twitch as teams would battle through a Double-Elimination bracket from July 24th to July 26th.Overcraft had been on hiatus since 2023 and was ready to make its grand return in 2026. The host of this tournament reached out to me to revamp the original look of Overcraft, commissioning a branding kit with a streaming overlay package. Previous iterations of these overlays had been incredibly busy, stuffed with design choices that made it difficult to look at all at once. This prompted the need for a sleeker design, toning down the vibrant colors and loading symbol motifs to create an overall informative and intentional look.

I heavily leaned into the implications of the event name itself "Overcraft", mixing the very opposing games Minecraft and Overwatch as one idea. This led me to utilize pixelated and blocky fonts and ideas to represent Minecraft, which I then paired with some italics and monotype fonts to represent the futuristic look of Overwatch.
